Revolutionizing Temperature, Humidity and Strain Sensing: UHF RFID Passive Sensor Label Tags

Passive UHF RFID Sensor tags offer sensitive Temperature, Humidity and Strain data collection from

  • Paper-thin, passive sensors

  • Wireless, battery-free self-adhesive label tags

  • with simple reading by standard UHF RFID readers
  • And you can visualize the Sensor data using free SensThys software.

Simply place a 95mm x 25mm Passive Sensor label tag onto the item you want to measure, and it will report sensor data when it is UHF RFID scanned

Why Passive Sensors Excel

These tags are ideal for non-invasive sensing in complex environments.

They can:

  • Be scanned through outer layers of non-metal materials.
  • Scan moving items as they speed pass RFID readers
  • Operate at distances of up to 5 meters
  • Be scanned up to 50 times per second

Most passive sensors utilize Axzon’s Magnus® S2 and S3 chipsets, engineered for robust performance in industrial, healthcare, and environmental monitoring applications.

Visualize Sensor Data with Free SensThys Software

Sensthys PhySens, a free utility application, collects and displays real-time graphical data from passive sensor tags.

Real-World Applications

Composite Resin Manufacturing:
PhySens is used to visualize the exothermic reaction during the resin curing process in injection-molded composite items. This data helps generate benchmark graphs for easy comparison across multiple items.

Helicopter Blade Balancing:
PhySens is used to detect minute strain differences between pairs of helicopter blades before installation on large military helicopters. Passive strain sensor tags reveal imbalances that would otherwise go undetected.

Zentag sells and supports UHF RFID Passive Sensor tags and Sensthys PhySens software running on Sensthys hardware here in New Zealand.
